Content xp presents one of the greatest Brazilian photographers and one of the heralds of nature photography in the country: Araquém Alcântara.

Araquém has worked for the major newspapers in Brazil and, since the 1970’s, is devoted exclusively to the documentation and protection of the Brazilian fauna e flora and its habitats.

The photographer is known for his impressive snapshots of nature and for his vast production. He earned five international awards and produced various reports for national and international publications.

Giving priority to photography as a plastic expression and a tool for social transformation, Araquém Alcântara is, today, one of the most combative artists in defense of the natural heritage of Brazil, especially the Amazon and the Atlantic Forest.
